Blanco scored Mexico’s second goal on 71 minutes, finishing a move that started at the back and went through seven passes before arriving at his feet. Carlos Vela set up Mexico’s third- picking out Francisco Palencia’s whose fierce right footed effort gave Miguel Montes no chance in the El Salvador goal. Gonzalez suffered further heart ache when his back header was pounced on by Vela to make it 4-1 to Javier Aguirre’s side.
