United States coach Bob Bradley will be expecting an improved performance against Trinidad and Tobago as he looks to move a step closer to clinching qualification to the World Cup finals on Wednesday. The Yanks struggled to bounce back from their shock defeat to Mexico last month and looked set for a second straight defeat after El Salvador took a shock lead through Cristian Castillo in the 32nd minute.

However the hosts fought back to level the scored through Clint Dempsey in the 41st minute before Jozy Altidore gave his side the lead on stroke of half time. The win sees United States remain in touch with Honduras at the top of the table and they could book their place to the play-offs if they manage to secure all three points against Trinidad on Wednesday.

With his sides qualification chances all but eliminated, Trinidad coach Russell Latapy will be hoping that his players will give their all for the remaining three matches where there is nothing except pride at stake.

Trinidad are currently placed at the bottom of the table with just five points from seven matches and will be eliminated from contention if they lose against the United States regardless of the result between Costa Rica and El Salvador.
