Trinidad and Tobago are currently last in the six team Hexagonal. The Soca Warriors have only managed to collect two points from their first five games, and need to beat El Salvador to give themselves a realistic chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. Their last qualifier was against Mexico, which they narrowly lost 2-1.

Both Bobby Zamora and Jlloyd Samuel are expected to make their debuts for T&T in this game. Zamora and Samuel, both of whom ply their trade in England and have been capped by England at U-21 level, were recently given their T&T passports.

El Salvador are fifth in the group with seven points, but are in a better position to qualify for the World Cup. Fourth placed Mexico and third placed Honduras are just one and two points ahead of La Selecta respectively. El Salvador's most recent game was against Colombia, which they lost 2-1. Juan Carlos Moscoso scored El Salvador's only goal in that fixture.

Carlos de los Cobos' men also took part in the recently concluded Gold Cup. They started off well with a win over Costa Rica, but subsequent losses to Canada and Jamaica saw them bow out of the tournament early. US born Arturo Alvarez could end up making his debut for Los Cuscatlecos if he receives international clearance from FIFA.
