Defending champions Lyon will travel to the Stadium Municipal this weekend to meet Toulouse in their last Ligue 1 game of the season. It is an important game for TFC as a win would see them book their spot in next season’s Europa League. Toulouse are currently fourth in the league going into this game against Lyon, but a slip up on Saturday evening could allow PSG, Rennes or Lille to take that spot away from TFC. PSG are below Toulouse on goal difference, while Rennes and Lille both have 61 points. Even a draw would confirm a spot for Alain Casanova’s men in Europe because of their superior goal difference.

Toulouse beat Nice 2-0 last week, with the prolific Andre-Pierre Gagnac scoring a brace. Gagnac now has 24 goals to his name, and will almost certainly end up as the highest scorer in the league this season. Defender Cheikh M’Bengue continues to serve his two month suspension for a dangerous tackle on Alejandro Alonso.

Lyon beat Caen 3-1 last week to seal a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Juninho put Les Gones ahead from the spot, and Sidney Govou doubled their lead midway through the second half. Sambou Yatabare pulled one back for Caen, but Karim Benzema added a third late in the game as Lyon emerged 3-1 winners.

Juninho, who scored his 100^th goal for Lyon against Caen, was in tears as he left the field. The Brazilian dead ball wizard is not expected to play for Lyon next season, and has probably played his last game for Les Gones. He is suspended for the trip to Toulouse.
