Spurs have already been seen in action against Bournemouth, San Jose Earthquakes and the New York Red Bulls this month. They will wrap up their friendly engagements this month with a game against Villarreal after returning home from the New York Football Challenge.

Sporting Lisbon have been linked in the press with moves for some of Spurs’ attacking players. One of them is Mexican Giovani dos Santos, who played quite well for his national team at the recently concluded 2010 World Cup. The other is Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko, who enjoyed a mini resurgence of sorts under Spurs boss Harry Redknapp last season.

This will be Sporting’s third game against British opposition in the United States this month. The Lions have already been seen in action against Glasgow Celtic and Manchester City.
