Tottenham avoided a poor start to the campaign for a third successive season with some excellent displays in their first four games to remain in touch with Chelsea at the top of the league table.

Spurs suffered their second straight defeat last weekend as goals from Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba secured a comfortable 3-0 win for the Blues. Redknapp was furious with referee Howard Webb who failed to award Spurs a penalty midway through the first half that could have seen Tottenham put up a stronger challenge for the league leaders.

Meanwhile Burnley coach Owen Coyle will be pleased with the start gained by his side as he attempts to help them secure Premier League safety as soon as possible. The Clarets have collected nine points from their first six games including a comfortable 3-1 win over Sunderland last weekend.

On loan striker David Nugent scored a brace late in the second half to help his side collect all three points from the game after Darren Bent had equalized following Graham Alexander's goal early in the first half. Having already being eliminated from the Carling Cup thanks to a narrow 3-2 defeat to Barnsley on Tuesday, Burnley will now be able to completely focus on their Premier League campaign at least until January when the FA Cup third round kicks off.
