Tottenham welcome Liverpool to White Hart Lane this Sunday as both teams look to make a winning start to the new premiership season. Tottenham Hotspur have seen a grand revival in their fortunes ever since new boss Harry Redknapp arrived from Portsmouth mid-way through the last season. He brought Jermaine Defoe and Robbie Keane back to the club and has now purchased Peter Crouch from his ole club.

Darren Bent has been let go as have Didier Zokora and Cris Gunter. Redknapp is apparently keen to bring in Arjen Robben from Real Madrid and Patrick Viera from Inter Milan, but no concrete offers have been made so far.

Meanwhile Liverpool had a great start to the last season only to falter mid-way and let a nine point lead slip to hand United the title. Manager Rafael Bentiez has not had much money to spend, but has brought in Glen Johnson and Alberto Aquilani. However the Reds lost Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid in the summer.

This season Benitez will be hoping for a realistic crack at the Premier League crown, but he needs to have a fit Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard to achieve this dream.
