Tottenham Hotspur will be looking for a comfortable victory when they welcome Aalborg BK in their next UEFA Cup match on Thursday.

Tottenham started the group stage with a humiliating 2-1 defeat to Getafe at White Hart Lane that saw manager Martin Jol sacked from his position. However Spurs recovered under Juande Ramos, scoring an easy victory over Hapoel Tel-Aviv with two goals in five minutes by Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov.

With Ramos at the helm, Tottenham fans will be hopeful for a long run in the competition with the former Sevilla coach having won it in the last two years with the Spanish club. If Ramos manages to take Spurs all the way to the trophy, then he will be the second manager to achieve the feat of winning it three times with Trapattoni having won it with Juventus in 1976-77, 1990-91 and 1992-93.

However Ramos will be looking for an improved performance from his team after Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham in their last Premiership match on Sunday. Jermain Defoe missed a penalty kick in the final minute of the game, as Spurs were unable to cash in on their domination in the match.

Meanwhile AaB will be facing English opponents only for the second time in their history and are in desperate need of points if the club is to defy the odds and reach the next stage. The Danish club had snatched a vital point against Anderlecht in their only match of the group stage and will be looking to build on that performance against Tottenham on Thursday.
