Two wins out of two has given hopes to Bolton fans that their team can avoid relegation. With Birmingham City losing to Aston Villa last weekend, Bolton's narrow win against Middlesbrough has lifted them out of the relegation zone with just three games remaining in the season.

It was a lucky escape for Bolton after Boro dominated the opening few minutes of the match and should have had taken the lead but were let down by some poor finishing and some great defending by Bolton. Gavin McCann scored the only goal of the match just past the hour mark as Bolton spent the closing stages of the game trying hard to hang on to their lead.

The win leaves them just one point above Birmingham but with Reading too struggling for form, manager Gary Megson will be confident that his side can hang on to their place outside the relegation zone.

Meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur continue to go through their paces, dropping two more points against Wigan Athletic last weekend. Spurs' 1-1 draw against Wigan was their fourth match without a win with Juande Ramos' side managing just one win in their last seven matches.

Bolton had held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw early this season but Megson's side will be pushing for all three points this time around.
