European giants Real Madrid travel to North America this weekend for two games against MLS opposition. Toronto FC are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with 27 points from 20 games, six behind Conference leaders Colombus Crew. They have won only one of their last five league games, and were dumped out of the CONCACAF Champions League by little known Puerto Rico Islanders.

Toronto's last league game was a 1-1 draw against New England Revolution. Dwayne De Rosario's beautiful strike was cancelled out by Edgaras Jankauskas' late goal as both teams settled for a share of the spoils at the Gillette Stadium.

Real completed their summer spending this week as they acquired star midfielder Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid for £30m. Alonso is with the Real Madrid squad travelling to Canada. However Fernando Gago, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo have not been able to make the trip due to injuries. The Dutch trio of Rafael Van der Vaart, Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Ruud Van Nistelrooy will also not be on the flight out of the Spanish capital.

Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are also in the 22 member squad. Kaka is expected to make his debut for Los Merengues against Toronto. Real Madrid recently took part in the Peace Cup, and progressed from the group stages before losing to Juventus in the last four.
