Swiss coach Kobi Kuhn has promised that the carnival atmosphere of Euro 2008 will continue although the co-hosts will just watch the party from the sidelines. Switzerland's tournament ended when they crashed to a 1-2 loss to Turkey.

The Swiss went ahead thanks to Hakan Yakin's goal in the 32nd minute. However Turkey bounced back with an equalizer from Semih Senturk in the 57th minute. Just when it looked like the teams would share the spoils, Ardan Turan's deflected goal sent the Swiss fans into agony.

Portugal on the other hand are the first team to go through to Euro 2008 quarterfinals. Luiz Felipe Scolari's side beat the Czech Republic 3-1 with goals from Deco, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma. The Czechs pulled one back through Libor Sionko.

Scolari has accepted the Chelsea job and he will be keen to finish his Portugal stint on a high. Although his side have made it to the second stage it appears unlikely that he will fiddle much with the starting line-up.
