Sunderland welcome a resurgent Newcastle United side in their next Premiership clash with the Magpies looking to build on the good performances in their last two matches by registering their first league win in seven games. Watch all the live streaming football here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Newcastle United look to be slowly turning around their form with interim manager Joe Kinnear helping his side collect two points from their last two matches. Though the Magpies are still in the relegation zone, improved display in their last two matches has given the fans a hope that their side can manage to pull themselves out of the drop zone and move in a comfortable position.

The Magpies go into their clash against Sunderland on the back of an impressive performance against Manchester City last weekend. City had taken an early lead in the first half after Habib Beye was harshly sent off for a foul on Robinho in the penalty area and the Brazilian striker made no mistake from the spot.

 

 

Shola Ameobi equalized a minute before half time and Newcastle took a deserved lead three minutes past the hour mark thanks to an own goal by Richard Dunne but City snatched a point four minutes from full time with Stephen Ireland scoring the equalizer. With Kinnear's short term contract close to expiring, the 62-year old confirmed that he hoped to stay longer at St James Park, even after Mike Ashley manages to find a buyer, following good recent performances.

Roy Keane on the other hand will be hoping that his Sunderland side will manage to take advantage of Newcastle's poor form and register their first Tyne Wear derby win in more than 10 matches.

 

 

Sunderland have had a mixed start to the season and currently sit 12th in the league table, just two points above the relegation zone. With his side scheduled to face Chelsea next month, Keane will be hoping to collect maximum points off Newcastle and Stoke City from the next two matches and sit in a comfortable position by the time they visit the league leaders.
