Hull have already played three friendlies this month and have emerged victorious in each of them. The Tigers first beat Winterton Rangers 2-1, and followed it up with a 6-0 thrashing of North Ferriby United.

Hull’s last friendly was against York City, a game they just about managed to win. Gabon skipper Daniel Cousin scored the winner ten minutes from time when he headed in Peter Halmosi’s cross past opposition keeper Steven Drench.

Sunderland got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start when they beat Darlington 1-0. Veteran Dutch midfielder Bolo Zenden scored the only goal of the game on 83 minutes. Since then, the Black Cats have already played one more friendly- against Brighton United in Portugal.
