Sunderland manager will be looking to take advantage of poor form at Newcastle United to register their first win in over seven matches when the two teams meet in their Premiership match on Saturday.

Sunderland have struggled for points in the recent games in spite of putting up some determined performances. With the team hovering near the relegation zone, fans will be hoping that the team manages to convert good performances into much needed points needed to move away from the drop zone.

Sunderland were unlucky to lose out against Manchester City last weekend after Stephen Ireland smashed home a brilliant shot to preserve City's perfect home record. With Newcastle United going through a poor run of their own, Keane will be hoping that his team does the needful against their arch rivals to pull out of a lean patch.

Meanwhile Newcastle United will be looking to bounce back strongly after a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth that saw them lose their first match at St James Park this season. The Magpies were left clueless as Noe Pamarot, Benjani Mwaruwari and John Utaka smashed home three goals in space of three minutes before Niko Kranjcar added the fourth in the 71st minute.

The only goal that Newcastle managed to score in the match was an own goal by Portsmouth defender Sol Campbell as manager Sam Allardyce was left fuming on the sidelines after an insipid display by his team. Mark Viduka continues to remain on the sidelines with an undisclosed injury. However the main worry for Sam Allardyce will be the poor performance by his defense in the recent matches.
