Though Bolton are relatively safe from the threat of relegation, manager Owen Coyle will be aware that it will take a single victory for either Hull City or Burnley to suck Bolton back into the relegation dogfight.

Bolton were twice denied clear penalties with both Didier Drogba and John Terry handling the ball inside the area while the Blues only managed to pierce the Bolton defense thanks to a headed goal by Nicolas Anelka late in the first half.

Meanwhile Stoke City will be looking to maintain their push for a place in the top half of the table and build on their recent good form that has seen them collect seven points from last three games. The Potters are currently 10th in the league table, level on points with Blackburn Rovers but do have a game in hand over their nearest rivals.
