Stoke threw away a game for the second time in a week as Danny Collins conceded a late penalty which allowed Bolton to take a point from their game against the Potters. Dave Kitson gave Stoke the lead in a game that eventually ended 1-1.

Stoke have turned the Britannia Stadium into a fortress, with very few teams managing to come away with positive results. Only Chelsea have managed to pick up all three points this season from a trip to the Britannia Stadium, and even they needed an injury time goal from Florent Malouda to beat the Potters.

Blackpool beat Nottingham Forest away from home for the first time in 45 years thanks to Charlie Adams’ 19^th minute strike. Ian Holloway’s men were solid at the back, and picked up their second straight league win after ending Newcastle United’s unbeaten record on Wednesday.

The Seasiders humiliated Wigan Athletic 4-1 in the second round of the Carling Cup. Goals from Ishmel Demontagnac, Ben Burgess and Charlie Adam put Blackpool 3-0 up within 33 minutes. Gary Taylor-Fletcher scored a fourth in the second half as the Latics were dumped out in one of the biggest second round upsets of the competition.

Blackpool were knocked out in the first round last time, while Stoke reached the fifth round before losing to Derby County.
