St Mirren will be high on confidence after seeing off Kilmarnock in their midweek League Cup tie. The Saints won 2-1 thanks to a last gasp goal from Andy Dorman.

The club has had a mixed run in the SPL though and their last match bears testimony of this. They lost 1-0 to Aberdeen in controversial circumstances with Charlie Mulgrew grabbing a late winner thanks to a free-kick that actually should not have been given.

Manager Gus MacPherson will now hope that injuries do not have a say in the upcoming game against Celtic and that his side can at least grab a draw.

Meanwhile Celtic are on top of the SPL table and have also made it to the quarterfinals of the League Cup after beating Falkirk by a 0-4 margin thanks to a brace from Scot McDonald and goals from Chris Killen and McCourt.

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray will hope his side can continue winning and maintain the two-point gap at the top of the table over Rangers. Mowbray also has some injury concerns heading into this match as striker Samaras is still out with injury.
