The Gers were held to a 1-1 draw by Hearts over the weekend. Scott Robinson had given Hearts the lead in the 75th minute and only a 90th minute strike from Andrew Little rescued a point for the defending champions. The draw means that Rangers are ahead by seven points from their nearest rivals Celtic who have a game in hand.

Manager Walter Smith will hope his side can make short work of St Mirren on Wednesday. He will continue to be without Kris Boyd, Kenny Miller, Steven Naismith and Nacho Novo for this game, while Maurice Edu remains a doubtful starter with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile St Mirren will hope to recover from a 2-0 loss to Motherwell in their last game. Goals from John Sutton and Jamie Murphy gave Well a comfortable win and ensured that St Mirren stayed on the 8th spot of the league table with 20 points from 20 games played so far.

For this game, St Mirren will miss Mo Camara, Chris Smith and Tom Brighton, but Lee Mair is expected to be fit.
