Sporting Lisbon squandered a two goal advantage as they went down 4-2 to French side Paris Saint-Germain in their last game. The Lions took an early lead through a PSG own goal and then doubled it through Daniel Carrico.

However PSG were back on level terms thanks to strikes from Erding and Giuly, and second half goals from Stephane Sessegnon and Maurice sealed an excellent comeback victory for Antoine Kombouare’s men. Sporting goal scorer Carrico left the field clutching his left arm after a second half collision with Gregory Coupet but will be fit in time for the game against City.

Manchester City opened their US tour with a win as they strolled to a 3-0 victory over Portland Timbers. Roberto Mancini’s side ran out comfortable winners thanks to goals from Stephen Ireland, Emmanuel Adebayor and Jo.
