Sporting Lisbon will be searching for their first points of their Champions League campaign when they welcome Basel to Joss Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon. Watch all the live soccer here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Sporting lost their first game of the campaign against Barcelona at the Nou Camp by a 3-1 margin. Goals from Marquez, Eto'o and Xavi Hernandez gave the Catalans a well-deserved win, while Tonel pulled one back for the Portuguese club late on.

Coach Paulo Bento however could be handicapped by injuries to key players ahead of this clash. Marco Caneira and Marat Izmailov are doubtful starters with a pubic bone injury respectively and a knee injury respectively. Simon Vukcevic is also doubtful after injuring his leg during training.

 

 

Liedson has been named in the squad and could feature for the first time since suffering a left knee injury in April.

Basel were beaten at home by Shaktar Donestk 1-2 thanks to goals from Fernandinho and Jadson. David Abraham got a consolation goal for the hosts in stoppage time, but it was too late for the home team.

 

 

Christian Gross's side have already tasted defeat at Lisbon earlier this year when they lost 2-0 to Sporting in February this year in the UEFA Cup.
