Barcelona face a trip to Portugal on Wednesday to play Sporting Lisbon with both the teams having already booked a place in the knockout stage. Watch all the live streaming football here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Sporting secured their place in the knockout stage for the first time since the reformation of the Champions League. A victory for Sporting against Barcelona will put them in a great position to finish at the top of their group though manager Paulo Bento could opt to rest his players ahead of their match against Guimaraes in the domestic league.

Sporting Lisbon booked their place in the next stage with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Shakhtar in their last match with Derlei scoring the only goal of the game 17 minutes from the final whistle. It was Sporting's third straight win though Bento will be more delighted by the fact that his side managed to keep a clean sheet for a third time in a row.

 

 

Barcelona meanwhile are expected to field a weak team with manager Josep Guardiola keeping one eye of a tough trip to Sevilla in their next domestic league match in the weekend. The Catalan giants will be looking to repeat their convincing performance against Sporting from their earlier match at Camp Nou where goals from Rafael Marquez, Samuel Eto'o and Xavi helped them to a comfortable 3-1 victory.

However they will have to be mindful of Sporting's excellent home form with the Portuguese club winning all of their last four home matches and have a good record against Spanish opponents. Sporting have suffered just one defeat in their last seven matches at home against Spanish sides with five of them ending in victories.
