Basel are unbeaten in four away games this season and coach Christian Gross will be hoping that his team will build on that as he looks to be in a strong position before the second leg.

Carlitos will be a key player for FC Basel with the winger having a good season so far and having already played against Sporting when he was with rivals SL Benfica for three seasons between 2004 and 2007.

The winner of the tie will play either Bolton Wanderers FC or Club Atlético de Madrid in the next round with the first leg scheduled for March 6.
