The European champions suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Switzerland in their opening group match and with Chile beating Honduras, Spain will have to win both of their remaining games if they are to progress to the next stage.

Spain dominated the possession but had little to show for it as Switzerland completed a hit and run job with Gelson Fernandes scoring the winner seven minutes into the second half. Coach Vincente Del Bosque criticized Switzerland’s tactics but it was his players’ inability to create chances that proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Honduras on the other hand could see an early end to their World Cup campaign should they lose out to Spain and Switzerland manages to collect at least a point from their match against Chile.
