England can book their place in the semi-final of the Euro 2009 Under-21 Championship if they can overcome Spain in their next game on Thursday. You can watch all the live streaming football from that game here on Live Sport Network.

Spain though will now have their work cut out after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Germany in their opener. Spain coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro admitted the draw left Group B wide open and added that his side will need to be at their best in the remaining two games to make it to the next stage.

For Spain players like Joss Manuel Jurado, Raul Garcia and Esteban Granero will have to put their hands up and play the direct football that their coach promised before the start of the competition. The trio were in good form in the opening game, but failed to make any impact in the business end of the pitch.

Meanwhile England emerged 2-1 winners over Finland despite playing with just 10 men for the majority of the game. Lee Cattermole had put the Three Lions ahead, but a blatant foul by Michael Mancienne, who felled Berat Sadik gave Finland a chance to equalize from the spot. The former was dismissed and Finland captain Tim Sparv scored to level the game in the 33rd minute.

England needed a late header from Micah Richards to collect all three points. Manager Stuart Pearce will have been delighted with his side's display, but will hope they can be better in this game, which they need to win in order to go through from this group.

Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs may once again be together upfront, but Fraizer Campbell is also in the frame to start for England in this game.
