South Korea come into this game having lost their last two international friendlies against Belarus and Spain. Both defeats came by identical 1-0 scorelines. Skipper Park Ji Sung did not feature in the game against Spain, but is expected to take the field against the Greeks. Korean coach Huh Jung Moo has said that he is reasonably pleased with his team’s progress.

Manchester United midfielder Park and young striker Park-Chu Young will have important roles to play for the Taeguk Warriors against Greece. Veteran keeper Lee Won Jae is likely to retain his spot under the sticks.

The Greeks played Korea’s northern neighbours prior to the World Cup and drew 2-2 with them. The draw was followed by a 2-0 loss to South American side Paraguay. Coach Otto Rehhagel will look to exploit Korea’s lack of height at set pieces with his players. Even at 33, playmaker Giorgios Karagounis remains vital to Greece’s hopes of qualifying from Group B.
