World record signing Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his debut for Real Madrid as they take on Irish side Shamrock Rovers in Dublin in their first pre season friendly. Watch Shamrock Rovers vs Real Madrid live on your PC by signing up to watch club friendlies online at Live Sport Network.

Rovers have already played three league games and one friendly in this month. They started off July with a 2-1 win over St.Patrick's Athletic, and followed it up with a 2-1 win over Bray Wanderers. They were however beaten 3-0 by Newcastle United in their first friendly of the month.

In their last game, the Hoops beat Sligo Rovers 3-1 at Tolka Park. Tadhg Purcell broke the deadlock in the 42^nd minute, and Aidan Price headed home a second minutes later as Shamrock Rovers went 2-0 ahead at half time. Michael O'Neill's men made sure of all three points when Stephen Rice's calm finish made it 3-0 in the 48^th minute.

Real Madrid have been football's biggest spenders this season. They bought Kaka from AC Milan for £56m and followed it up with Cristiano Ronaldo's signing for a jaw dropping £80m. Young French forward Karim Benzema has also arrived for £30m from Lyon as Los Merengues president Florentino Perez aims to build a side that can challenge Barcelona in the league and perform well in Europe.

Kaka has not travelled with the side to Ireland, so Ronaldo and Benzema will be the star attractions in Tallaght. Coach Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping for a winning start to their pre season engagements. After Shamrock Rovers, Real will play Al Ittihad and LDU Quito in the Peace Cup.
