Serie A Live Week 4Atalanta v Lazio Live
Lazio are in desperate need of a good result to get their season up and running following three draws in their opening three league games. However, Lazio will have to stop veteran striker Riccardo Zampagno, who is fresh from his outstanding strike last week.
Atalanta have been impressive thus far, earning a decent point at Fiorentina last week, which came on the back of a comfortable home win over Parma. Cristiano Doni has been an inspiration, especially from dead ball situations. Lazio will travel without the injured trio consisting of Fabio Firmani, Mobido Diakhite, and Sebastiano Siviglia.
Cagliari v Palermo Online
Cagliari are in relatively good form at the moment, with only that unfortunate result at home to Juventus going against them so far. The likely return of tricky winger Pasquale Foggia will be a huge boost, as he is the man with the role of supplying the ammunition to the dangerous duo of Alessandro Matri and Joaquin Larrivey. They are not without their injury problems, Joe Bizera and Francesco Pisano are certain to be ruled out.
The only thing consistent about Palermo this term, is there inconsistency. A mixture of results have left pundits confused, and unable to make any certain predictions regarding their future. They may endure the difficulties of combining European football with the obvious league commitments.
Watch Catania v Fiorentina
Catania are still searching for their first win this season, and will find a Fiorentina side determined to leave with all three points. The Viola have drawn their last two league games and will hope to have creative midfielder Riccardo Montolivio back in their squad.
Christian Vieri scored his first goal for Fiorentina last weekend and will have hoped to have done enough to warrant a place in the starting 11, but will be contested for that spot by the talented youngster Giampaolo Pazzini.
Cagliari coach Silvio Baldini is still watching on from the stands, and is likely to shuffle his pack once again. They worked hard against champions Inter last week, but are finding scoring goals a touch problematic at the minute.
Empoli v Napoli Live Online
Empoli have the found the goal only once so far this season, and may be lacking a little confidence, while Napoli on the other hand are quite simply buoyant. After a poor season opener, Napoli have struck back with two impressive victories, and will be travelling to Tuscany in search of another three points.
Empoli will have gained something from their 0-0 draw at Lazio last week, and as a result will be expected to name an unchanged side. Same applies to Napoli, who have an Argentine by the name of Ezequiel Lavezzi in tantalising form, and a goalscorer by the name of Marcelo Zalayeta up front. These are two players Empoli must pay particular attention to, if they are to stop Napoli making it a hat-trick of wins on the bounce.
Watch Livorno v Inter Milan Live
Bottom side Livorno must defend in a way they have not this season, if they are to upset champions Inter on Sunday. They have conceded 10 goals so far this season, whereas second placed Inter's defence has been breached only once, and that was due to an Ivan Cordoba own goal on the opening day.
Inter Milan will have a trio of top class players absent from action. Patrick Vieira, Christian Chivu and Marco Materazzi will not make the journey to Livorno, which means Olivier Dacourt may continue to hold off Cristiano Zanetti's claims for his midfield spot back.
For Livorno, Vikash Dhorasoo is still to make his debut, and that is not expected to happen this weekend. Jose Vidigal will also be missing following his sending off against Genoa last week.
AC Milan v Parma
AC Milan will be hoping to close the four point gap that is present between them and league leaders Roma. Two draws in the last two games means the Rossoneri will be only too aware of how important it is for them to back on the winning track on Saturday night against Parma.
Mistakes made in a disappointing draw with Siena last week, when they gifted Massimo Maccarone a goal, courtesy of Dida, and Kakha Kaladze, will need to be rectified this week, and the locals may only forgive with a convincing victory against a Parma side yet to register a win. Kaka, Andrea Pirlo are highly likely to return to the side after being rested for last week's game.
Despite having a few injuries, Parma coach Domenico Di Carlo may look to give Bernardo Corradi his first start after his debut goal last week. Up front is where Milan are currently experiencing one or two problems, with none of their strikers registering a league goal yet, and Ronaldo still unfit to play.
Sampdoria v Genoa Online
This hotly anticipated derby clash has been almost 13 years in waiting, and what an atmosphere it promises to be. Despite Genoa attack minded 3-4-3 formation, they been relatively ineffective in front of goal. There main threat this season has been N'Diaye Papa Waigo, but he may once again find himself confusingly left on the bench to begin with. Vincenzo Montella will lead the Sampdoria line, but team mate and former Roma colleague Antonio Cassano is once again going to be denied the chance to make his debut, due to injury. Sampdoria will begin the game as favourites, but as everyone in football knows, the form book goes out of the window when there is a fiercely competitive derby in town.
Watch Torino v Siena
Siena completed a double over Torino last season, and this fixture comes at a time when both sides are finding victories hard to come by. Torino have drawn all three Serie A games, while Siena picked up their first point last weekend, surprisingly at home to AC Milan.
If Siena are going to complete another double over the home side, then they will have to be exceptionally watchful of the growing partnership between Alessandro Rosina, and Alvaro Recoba, who appear to be on a similar wavelength. Siena will miss striker Mario Frick after his red card last week, so the onus will fall on Maccarone to produce the goods.
Udinese v Reggina
Udinese will look to follow on from their shock victory in Turin last week, when they play hosts to the struggling Reggina. Antonio Di Natale has been in sparkling form for both club and country, who backed up his two goals for Italy, with the winning goal against Juventus on the Sunday. With Fabio Quagliarella and Gyan Asamoah completing the attacking trio, Reggina will need all hands to the pump to keep this Udinese side in check.
Reggina are appearing to rely heavily on goals from Nicola Amoruso, of which he has justified by finding the back of the net twice already this season. The visitors will not be too disheartened after their defeat against Roma last week, it will be their results against the lesser sides that will ultimately decide their fate. With that in mind, it is unlikely they will make many changes to that team.
