The 2010 World Cup qualification campaign was Serbia’s first as an independent nation and Radomir Antic’s men managed to make their nation proud by securing first position in Group 7. The Beli Orlovi won seven of their ten games to finish ahead of favourites and 1998 champions France. They also scored twenty two goals and conceded three, thus finishing with the best attacking and defensive records in the group.

Ghana come into this World Cup on the back of an encouraging performance at the African Cup of Nations in January. Despite missing several first team regulars, the team reached the final of the tournament before losing to seven time champions Egypt. Ghana’s youngsters gained some valuable first team experience during the tournament and will be equally keen to shine at the World Cup.
