After a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign, France have recovered in time to sit second in the group table and are favorites to clinch at least a play-offs place. However fans will be demanding nothing less than direct qualification and France will have to beat Serbia in order to remain in contention for finishing at the top of the table.

France were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Romania on Saturday. After a lackluster first half, Thierry Henry opened the scoring for France three minutes after the break but Romania equalized seven minutes later through Iulian Apostol to collect a well deserved point from the game.

Serbia on the other hand will clinch qualification to the World Cup finals if they manage to secure all three points on Wednesday. Radomir Antic's side have had an excellent qualification campaign so far and currently sit at the top of the table with 18 points from seven games.

While his side starts the game as slight underdogs, Antic revealed that his players will be going all out for a victory that will see them qualify for the World Cup finals for a second successive edition.

Serbia are in good form, winning their last four international matches including qualifiers against Austria and Faroe Islands and Antic will be looking to make full use of the positive morale in his camp to avenge their 2-1 defeat to France early in the campaign.
