French midfielder sunderland.gif starred in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Sturm Graz at the UPC Arena last week. The former Marseille man’s angled drive put Arsenal ahead in the 16^th minute, and he doubled the advantage two minutes before the break with a well taken free kick.

Gunners substitute Henri Landsbury scored the third goal of the game just before the hour mark. Barring Manuel Almunia and Conor Henderson, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger chose to start with the same line up that had comprehensively outclassed Barnet 4-0 in the club’s first pre-season friendly. Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen wore the captain’s armband for the first time in his career as an Arsenal player.

This is Arsenal’s last warm up game before the Emirates Cup. The Gunners will play Italian giants AC Milan and Scottish powerhouses Celtic in that tournament.
