SC Freiburg were at the receiving end of a 5-2 score in their last Bundesliga game. Their opponents, Hannover 96 took a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes. Karim Haggui scored their third on the stroke of half time, and two more came in the second half as Freiburg slumped to their fourth defeat of the season.

Ivica Banovic and Julian Schuster scored for Freiburg against Hannover. Both the goals were headers. Banovic scored in the 35^th minute, while Schuster headed in Heiko Butscher’s cross on 82 minutes. Danish striker Tommy Bechmann also missed a glorious opportunity to score when Hannover were leading 3-1. He hit the post in a one on one situation with keeper Fromlowitz.

Bayern failed to score for the third match in a row as they were held to a goalless draw by Koln in their previous Bundesliga game. Koln packed men behind the ball, and while Bayern dominated possession, they were simply unable to find the back of the net.

Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger was involved in both of Bayern’s best chances of the game. In the 12^th minute, his header from a Bayern corner hit the crossbar. In the 38^th minute, Edson Braafheid swung the ball into the box, and Schweinsteiger’s header took a deflection off Miroslav Klose before again hitting the woodwork. Bayern are currently eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
