Romania v Albania LiveRomania clash with Albania in their final Euro 2008 qualifier at Lia Manoliu stadium in Bucharest with the intention of topping Group G. Romania have already qualified for the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland next year and will look to test their bench strength against Albania.
In their previous game, Romania lost 1-0 to Bulgaria to give them hope of qualification. However that hope was extinguished when Netherlands clinched their Euro 2008 qualifier 1-0 against Luxemburg. Romania Coach Victor Piturca has named a strong squad for the Albania game.
While there have been no changes in the squad from the previous games, Cosmin Contra, Laurentiu Rosu and Mirel Radoi all miss out due to injuries.
Albania’s hopes of finishing fourth in Group G took a hit when they lost to Belarus 2-4 at home. Two goals each from Maksim Romashchenko and Vitali Kutuzov secured the win for Belarus. Slovenia have a chance to leapfrog them to the fourth place, but Albania will want to end their Euro 2008 campaign on a high.
Albania coach Otto Barić has named a strong squad for the game, but will be watching from the stands as he has been banned by UEFA from three national-team competition matches. Baric was banned for improper conduct as he insulted the referee in Albania's clash against Bulgaria last month.
Edmond Kapllani and Lorik Cana are back in the squad after serving their suspensions and should make the first team. Goalkeeper Arjan Beqaj is suspended for the Belarus game and he is replaced by Ilion Lika. However KF Tirana captain Devis Mukaj is out of the game as he is currently recovering from knee surgery.
Romania top Group G with 26 points from 11 games, while Albania are fourth with 11 points from 11 games. Watch Romania vs Albania Live on free-football.tv. Tags: Romania, Euro 2008 qualifier, Euro 2008, Albania, Albania Live Posted: |
