Roma will have some introspection to do after falling 3-2 to Genoa on the opening day of the new season. Domenico Criscito gave Genoa the lead in the 49th minute at the Comunale Luigi Ferraris Stadium only for Rodrigo Taddei to equalize in the 53rd minute.

Francesco Totti then gave Roma the lead in the 64th minute, but Alberto Zapater pulled it back for Genoa before Giuseppe Biava sealed the game for the hosts with a 83rd minute goal.

The Giallorossi will have to pull up their socks and regain momentum as early losses could scupper their bid to finish in the top four this season.

Meanwhile Juventus started off as expected with a fine win over Chievo even though the score said 1-0. The Bianconeri were given the lead in the 11th minute by Vincenzo Iaquinta and held on to claim all three points.

Manager Ciro Ferrara will have been satisfied with his side's performance and will hope they can deliver the goods against Roma. Juve have managed to keep David Trezeguet at the club despite interest from Milan and will hope the French striker delivers when it matters most.
