Republic of Ireland take on Poland in a final international friendly of this year with both the teams looking to maintain their good form ahead of their crucial matches in March next year. Catch all the soccer live on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Republic of Ireland have collected seven points from their first three matches and are second in their group table, three points behind leaders Italy and have a game in hand. Ireland secured a narrow 1-0 win over Cyprus in their last game thanks to an early goal from Robbie Keane but the Liverpool striker will not be available for the match against Poland.

Keane was selected in the 22-man squad but had to drop out after sustaining a shoulder injury in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. Celtic's Aiden McGeady is also out of contention with a thigh injury that saw him miss Celtic's victory over Hamilton.

 

 

Reading's Noel Hunt is in line for a national debut after being called up for the first time by Giovanni Trapattoni who once again overlooked Sunderland's Andy Reid.

Reid is yet to feature in a match for Ireland since Trapattoni was installed as the new manager though the Italian has repeatedly said that he has no problems with Reid in spite of media speculation about a rift between the two.

 

 

Ireland next play Georgia in their qualifying campaign while Poland visit Northern Ireland late in March before taking on San Marino at home.
