Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni will be under intense scrutiny when his side take on Georgia in their next World Cup qualifier on Wednesday. Watch all the live soccer streams from that game by signing up with us here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

The Republic are currently second in Group Eight; three points behind Italy, who do not feature in this week's qualifiers. The former have seven points from three games courtesy two wins and a draw thus far. Ireland beat Georgia 2-1 in their opening game of the qualifiers, which was moved to Mainz in Germany due to the political turmoil in Georgia.

Ireland also beat Cyprus 1-0, but were held to a goalless draw by Montenegro. Giovanni Trapattoni has been given a nice settling in period by the media, which is bound to change should his side come a cropper in this game.

 

 

Trapattoni has excluded Stephen Ireland and Andy Reid from his squad. The former has decided not to return to international football just yet, while the latter was dropped for the Poland friendly in November following his breach of a curfew days before the Montenegro game.

However Steve Finnan and Stephen Kelly are back after missing the last two games due to injury issues.

 

 

Meanwhile Georgia coach Hector Cuper has included AC Milan's Kakha Kaladze in his 22-man squad for this game. Zurab Khizanishvili has also been named in the squad as have Alexandre Iashvili and Levan Kenia. Georgia currently lie fifth in Group Eight with two draws and no wins from four games played so far.
