Bafana Bafana’s poor away form against European opposition continued on Saturday as they were beaten 2-0 by Germany in Leverkusen. Werder Bremen midfielder Mezut Ozil scored one goal and had a hand in the other as Joachim Low’s side eased to a 2-0 win.

The World Cup hosts, who were without goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, Sundowns centre half Matthew Booth, right back Bryce Moon, and midfield stars Teko Modise and Macbeth Sibaya, rarely posed a threat to the Germans. Bafana coach Joel Santana will be hoping for a better performance from his injury hit side in Limerick on Tuesday night.
