Madrid are currently placed second in the league table, six points behind league leaders Barcelona. Manager Juande Ramos will be hoping that his side will manage to maintain their winning streak for the remainder of the season and hope that Barcelona drop points during the period, including in the crucial match when both the teams clash in May.

The Los Merengues completed a comfortable 2-0 win against Valladolid last weekend thanks to goals from Raul and Arjen Robben and register a fourth straight league win. Recreativo Huelva meanwhile will be desperately searching for points as the season draws to a close. El Decano are currently sitting 18th in the league table and are three points away from safety. Recent form shows no sign of improvement with the club managing just one point from their last five games and manager Lucas Alcaraz will be aware that his side will have to improve very quickly if they are to have any hopes of extending their stay in the top flight for a fourth season.

There are hopes of Recreativo denying a victory for Madrid this weekend with recent meetings between the two sides ending too close to be comfortable for the defending champions. A Wesley Sneijder goal six minutes from the half time whistle was the difference between the two sides when they met early this season and Alcaraz will be hoping that his side can improve on that performance and secure a vital point for his side on Saturday.
