Atletico bounced back from a poor set of recent results with a brilliant performance in their 4-2 thrashing of Barcelona last weekend. Barca took the lead through Ronaldinho on the half hour mark but two goals from Sergio Aguero and one each by Maxi Rodríguez and Diego Forlan saw Atletico race to a 4-1 lead before Samuel Eto'o grabbed one back for the Catalan giants.

It was a much needed win for Atletico who were on a poor run of just one win in their last six matches. The win sees Atletico remain in fourth place and coach Javier Aguirre will be hoping that his team will return back to their consistent best as he looks to end the season with a Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile Real Zaragoza season went from bad to worse as coach Javier Irureta handed over his resignation just six matches after assuming the responsibility. Irureta managed only to steer Zaragoza to just one win in six matches and had lost last four games in charge, including the 2-1 defeat to Levante last weekend.

Zaragoza are level on points with 18th placed Recreativo Huelva and need to start picking points regularly if they are to avoid getting relegated after being tipped to contest for a Champions League place this season. Zaragoza have already lost to Atletico 4-0 early this season but fans will be hoping for a repeat of last season when their side won 1-0 at La Romareda.
