Real Madrid will need to win all their remaining games, starting with the one against Valladolid this weekend and hope Barcelona falter, if they are to seriously compete for the La Liga crown this year. The Galacticos trail Barcelona by six points and are currently in the second place on the league table with 66 points from 29 games. Any Real fan will admit the club has had an average run so far and the exit from the Champions League at the hands of Liverpool all but ended fans' hopes of a European revival. Meanwhile Valladolid are in the top half of the La Liga table with 39 points from 29 games. The club has worked hard this season and the results indicate they are reaping the fruits of this work. However last weekend was a bad one as they were unlucky to lose 0-1 to Barcelona.

Valladolid coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has no new fitness concerns ahead of this game against Real Madrid, but Jose Antonio Garcia Calvo continues to be sidelined with injury.
