Mallorca are in an excellent run of form and have won four of their last five matches to lift themselves from 13th to ninth in the league table. With Malaga enjoying a superior head-to-head record, ninth in the best finish that Gregorio Manzano's side can expect and the Spanish coach will be urging his players to give their all in their final two games of the season.

The Barralets pulled off an upset last weekend to stage a brilliant comeback in the second half and secure a 2-1 victory over Barcelona. The newly crowned champions looked on course for a comfortable victory after Samuel Eto'o had given them an early lead but Mallorca struck back to score two goals in five minutes through Juan Arango and Cleber Santana to turn the match on its head. Eto'o had a great chance to snatch a point late in the game but was unable to convert from the penalty spot.

Real Madrid on the other hand go into the match on the back of a three game losing streak that saw them surrender their La Liga crown to arch rivals Barcelona. Having managed to collect 52 out of 54 points, Madrid are yet to recover from the 6-2 drubbing by Barcelona and have since then lost their last three matches to hand over the title to the Catalan giants.

Needing to win in order to delay Barcelona's celebrations for another week, Madrid were on the back foot right from the start as goals from Robert Pires, Cani and Joan Capdevila gave Villarreal a thrilling victory.
