Los Blancos put in an excellent performance to beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-1 last weekend. Karim Benzema finally found his scoring boots to grab a brace after Esteban Granero had opened the scoring early in the first half.

The result sees Madrid remain five points behind Barcelona at the top of the table. Manager Manuel Pellegrini will be hopeful that his side will secure a comfortable victory on Saturday and Getafe will repeat their last season’s performance at Camp Nou and avoid defeat.

Meanwhile Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino will be hopeful that his side can come away with another point from Santiago Bernabeu after having held Madrid to a thrilling 2-2 draw last season.

The Periquitos have had a disappointing season so far and find themselves 14th in the league table, just six points above the drop zone.
