Real Madrid kick off their 13th straight Champions League campaign with a fairly easy clash against Belarus side BATE Borisov on Wednesday. Watch all the live streaming football here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Madrid are the most successful side to have participated in the Champions League with nine titles to their name but their recent form in the tournament has dipped with the club being eliminated from the competition at the knockout stages in their last three campaigns.

The Spanish champions have stuttered in their opening match of the tournament, with the club losing three of their last four match day fixtures. However they have recovered well in the later matches and have qualified to the knockout stages in their last 12 campaigns.

 

 

BATE Borisov will have nothing to lose when they embark on their group stage campaign with the side already in the history books for being the first club from Belarus to have qualified for the group stages of the tournament.

BATE have already beaten Valur Reykjavik, Anderlecht and Levski Sofia in the qualifying stages so far and coach Viktor Goncharenko will be hoping that his side will continue to surprise everyone in the group stages, though he has admitted that they are not yet ready to pit their wits against giants of Europe.
