Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from their recent dip in form and maintain their position at the top of the table when they take on Getafe in their next La Liga encounter this Sunday.

Two defeats in their last three matches has seen Real Madrid's lead at the top of the table cut down to 5 points giving Barcelona hope of catching up with their rivals. Madrid suffered a surprise defeat away to Almeria early this month but responded strongly with a 7-0 thrashing of Valladolid.

However the defending champions suffered their fourth defeat of the season at the hands of Real Betis, failing to hang on to the early lead provided by Royston Drenthe in the 6th minute. Two goals in four minutes by Edu and Mark Gonzalez turned the match on its head and though Madrid dominated the possession, they were unable to break down a stubborn Betis defense.

Coach Bernd Schuster will be confident of doing the double over a team that he had managed before moving on to his current post after having already registered a 1-0 victory early this season. However he will be without the services of Wesley Sneijder with the midfielder fracturing a rib during a training session.

Meanwhile Getafe will be looking to capitalize on Madrid's poor form and collect vital points as they seek to pull further away from the relegation zone. Just three wins in their last 10 matches has seen Getafe slip to 13th in the league table, 5 points above the drop zone.

Getafe managed to hold out Valencia to a 0-0 draw last week but face a daunting task away to Madrid. The two teams had played out a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season and manager Michael Laudrup will be satisfied with a similar result this time around.
