A horrible run of seven defeats in a row has seen Reading slip into the relegation zone with fans expressing concern over their side's recent form. With Fulham sniffing at their heels and other teams picking up crucial points, Reading manager Steve Coppell will have to turn things around quickly if his side is to avoid getting relegated to the Championship.

The club has also curtailed its stadium expansion project with chief executive, Nigel Howe stating that with Reading's Premiership status in doubt, it makes no sense in spending money to expand the Madejski Stadium. However Howe added that the board has every intention of expanding the stadium but will do so only when all the combinations fall into place.

Meanwhile Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill will be looking to build on his side's brilliant second half display against Newcastle United and continue to challenge for a Champions League spot. Villa are currently sitting sixth in the league table, tied on points with Liverpool and Manchester City and are just three points behind fourth placed Everton.

Villa have applied to take part in next season's Intertoto Cup should they fail to qualify for a European competition automatically from the league. O'Neill revealed that the move will be used as a fall back and the players are confident that they will manage to qualify directly from the league.

Gabriel Agbonlahor could return to action this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury with O'Neill looking to repeat the comfortable win that they had achieved against Reading early this season.
