Rangers have already played one pre-season friendly this month- against local outfit Queen of the South. The Gers, playing for the first time in their red and white striped away kit, won 1-0 thanks to a strike from Kenny Miller.

Rangers coach Walter Smith will have only fourteen senior players to choose from following the departure of five players from Ibrox this summer. The rest of the squad mainly consists of youth players.

All of Blackburn’s friendlies this season have been away from home. Rovers drew with Sturm Graz and beat Southport and Fleetwood Town, but then lost to Preston North End. Their last friendly was against Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium. After the Blackburn game, Rangers will face Sydney FC and AEK Athens at the same stadium before returning home.
