Real Madrid will be hoping to move one step closer to clinching their second La Liga title in as many years with a comfortable victory over Racing Santander when the two teams clash on Sunday.

The defending champions are nine points clear at the top of the table and with just six matches left in the season, needing just nine more points to claim their first league title under coach Bernd Schuster. Madrid secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Murcia last weekend with Wesley Sneijder hitting the target midway through the second half.

Meanwhile Racing Santander go into the match on the back of a determined performance against struggling Valencia side that has seen them move within just one point to Atletico Madrid in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Gonzalo Colsa had put Racing in the lead midway through the second half but Valencia soon equalized through a David Villa penalty. With time running out, Mohamed Tchite grabbed the winner for Racing in the 82nd minute to help his club complete a double over Valencia.
