Rabotnicki hammered Andorran side Lusitanos 11-0 on aggregate in the first qualifying round. They thrashed them 5-0 in Skopje and followed it up with a 6-0 win in the return leg at Estadi Comunal d'Aixovall. Rabotnicki’s Brazilian born striking duo of Wandeir and Silva netted in both fixtures.

The second qualifying round was a tighter affair, with Rabotnicki beating Armenian side Mika 1-0 on aggregate thanks to Wandeir’s 87^th minute strike in the first leg in Skopje. The return leg in Yerevan was a goalless stalemate.

Liverpool went down 1-0 to Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern in their last game. New manager Roy Hodgson is yet to taste victory as Liverpool boss- his first game against Al Hilal was rained out, while the second game against Grasshopper ended in a 0-0 scoreline.
