Beleaguered Portugal manager Carlos Queiroz will be hoping to finally get his tactics right when his team takes on Finland in a friendly match on Wednesday. Watch all the action from the international friendlies live here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Portugal have stuttered badly in their World Cup qualification campaign so far, sitting third in their group table, two points behind Denmark and Hungary. After a brilliant start to his reign with a 4-0 win over Malta, Queiroz has seen Portugal slump to a 3-2 defeat at home against Denmark before being held to 0-0 draws by Sweden and Albania.

With a crucial qualification game coming up against Sweden next month, Queiroz will be hoping that his side will settle down and put up a good performance on which they can kick start their quest to qualify for the World Cup for a third successive edition.

 

 

Queiroz has named a strong squad for the friendly, calling up Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani and Chelsea's Deco and Paulo Ferreira though Ricardo Carvalho misses out with injury.

Meanwhile Finland will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 5-1 loss to Japan in a friendly last week. Stuart Baxter's side was completely outplayed by Japan who took the lead through Shinji Okazaki in the 15th minute.

 

 

Okazaki doubled the lead before half time while goals from Shinji Kagawa, Yuji Nakazawa and substitute Michihiro Yasuda helped Japan to a comfortable victory. Roni Porokara scored a consolation goal for Finland minutes before the half time whistle and Baxter will be aware that his side will have to improve fast if they are to have any hopes of challenging for a place in the World Cup finals next year.
