Carlos Queiroz’s side needed a late return to form in order to book a place in the World Cup finals and the Portugal manager has one last chance to look at all the options available before naming the squad that will travel to South Africa in the summer.

Chelsea keeper Hilario has received a shock call up to the national squad. The 34-year old has been the second choice keeper for the English club but with Petr Cech injured, the former Porto keeper is expected to get an extended run in the first team.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Hugo Almeida and Pedro Mendes have all been recalled to the squad after missing out the last match due to injuries while Silvestre Varela is in line to make his debut after being called up for the first time.
