It will be a big moment for Portsmouth fans when Italian giants AC Milan visit Fratton Park on Thursday night for a Group E UEFA Cup tie. The game, only Pompey’s second continental one at home, will also mark Tony Adams’ European managerial debut. Portsmouth lost 3-0 to Braga on Matchday 1, but did not play on Matchday 2. Carlo Ancelotti’s men beat Heerenveen 3-1 on Matchday 1, with Gattuso and Inzaghi adding to an own goal from Jong-A-Pin, and Braga on Matchday 2, with Ronaldinho scoring an injury time winner. Victory against Portsmouth will confirm Milan’s presence in the next round of the competition. Milan drew 2-2 against Torino on Sunday, Pato and Ronaldinho scoring for the Rossoneri. Marco Borriello’s injury robs them of a potent striking option. The likes of Clarence Seedorf, Ronaldinho and Kaka are playing well, and this game presents a rare opportunity for Pompey fans to watch them in action against their side.
